Confidentiality and Security
We will use our best efforts to: (a) protect the confidentiality of consumer nonpublic personal information (including social security numbers) in our possession and ensure that no unauthorized parties have access to this consumer information, (b) restrict access to nonpublic personal information about consumers in our possession to those individuals and entities that need to know that information to provide products or services to our clients, and (c) prevent the unlawful disclosure of nonpublic personal information in our possession (including social security numbers). We will use our best efforts to train and oversee our employees and agents to ensure that consumer information is handled responsibly and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and Advantage Credit’s Information Security guidelines. We currently maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard all nonpublic personal information provided to Advantage Credit, Inc.
We may, from time to time, contact our clients via e-mail to inform them of changes or updates to our site or products. We will never send our clients a request via e-mail for any personal information (e.g., social security number, account number, date of birth, etc.). However, when processing dispute requests, consumers may be asked to provide NPI to Advantage Credit, Inc. as part of authentication procedures required by the Bureaus, but this will only be in response to disputes initiated by the consumer.
Advantage Credit, Inc. is not a nationwide consumer reporting agency and therefore does not accept Security Freeze Requests pursuant to the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Please contact the nationwide consumer reporting agencies (Equifax, Experian, or TransUnion) to request a Security Freeze.
Privacy Notice: Preparation and Processing of Investigative Consumer Reports
This notice is provided to California residents. Under California law, an “investigative consumer report” is a consumer report containing information on a consumer’s character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living. Advantage Credit compiles investigative consumer reports about individuals and provides them to business for background screening, tenant screening, and similar purposes.
As a Reseller of credit data, Advantage Credit, Inc. is designated as a Credit Reporting Agency (CRA): our data is regulated by the FCRA and our activities are exempt from the CCPA.
The CCPA does not apply to the following types of activities:
Activities involving the collection, maintenance, disclosure, sale, communication, or use of any personal information bearing on a consumer’s credit worthiness, credit standing, credit capacity, character, general reputation, personal characteristics, or mode of living by a consumer reporting agency that provides information for use in a consumer report (as defined in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)), and by a user of such a consumer report to the extent governed by the FCRA.
Personal Information Disclosure: United States – In connection with its preparation and processing of investigative consumer reports Advantage Credit may transfer personal information about you to our authorized service providers in the United States and its territories. Such transfer will be conducted in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations. Advantage Credit does not use service providers located overseas.
We do not sell or share email addresses
or any other information with third parties. E-mail addresses and other volunteered information are kept confidential.
Advantage Credit, Inc. does not maintain a database of assembled or merged information from which new consumer reports are produced. Advantage Credit, Inc. only maintains historical information pursuant to applicable laws and regulations. As such, Advantage Credit, Inc. is generally exempt from state privacy laws that would require us to delete consumer information, and therefore unless otherwise required by law Advantage Credit, Inc. will not honor any deletion requests related to consumer reporting information.
