Position: Senior Accountant
Reports To: Financial Controller
Job Description
This is a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Financial Controller. We are looking for a go-getter who is organized, analytical, and self-motivated; and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This individual will support the Controller in a wide variety of functions including, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including intercompany receivables & payables
Assist with month-end close and production of financial reports for the Board of Directors and other stakeholders
Provide technical accounting support to accounting operations staff
Maintain prepaid expense, fixed asset, and amortization schedules
Develop and maintain written accounting policies
Investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance
Contribute to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures
Support Controller with ongoing budget and forecasting development and variance analysis
Assist with annual audit and tax preparation
Maintain highest standards of internal controls
Maintain confidentiality and integrity within the department, and company-wide
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations
Schedule
Company hours are 7 am to 6:30 pm MT, Monday through Friday; the schedule will be determined by the Financial Controller. Some evening and weekend hours will be required. This position is Full-Time – minimum 40 hour a week. This is remote work position, with company provided computer equipment.
Compensation and Benefits
Exempt – Salary for this position starts at $100k annually – depending on education/experience
Eligibility for benefits after initial 30-days of employment includes participation in medical, vision and dental insurance. Company paid Short-Term and Long-Term disability coverage, group life insurance, 401k with employer contribution after eligibility, employee assistance program, and fitness reimbursement. 120 hours Paid-Time Off (PTO) per year and paid Holidays.
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
5-7 years of experience in accounting roles with increasing responsibilities, min. 2 years public accounting experience required
Proficient in NetSuite, QuickBooks, Bill.com and Microsoft Office, especially Excel (Pivot tables, Vlookup, etc)
Sense of ownership and pride in your performance, and its impact on company’s success
Resolution-centric problem-solving capability
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to train and mentor staff
